For tonight:

  • First, you will complete your own version of the New England Primer. It will be called the USM Primer. There was an emphasis on education in the New England colonies. The New England Primer taught generations of children how to read, write, and understand mathematics. On the back side of the USM primer you have the opportunity to create your own about USM.  The USM primer should be about life at USM, like the NE Primer was about life and beliefs in Puritan/Christian NewEngland. For example, in one box you could focus on the letter G. You could draw a picture of a boy/girl falling down and a ball nearby. For the poem, you could write: In Gym we play ball, try not to fall!  Get it? Notice the G is capitalized because it is the letter of focus in that square.  You can use any letters of the alphabet. If you need another copy, there is one on EDMODO
  • Second, read about the Middle Colonies tonight. Let's see how they will differ from the NE colonies. Expect another quiz tomorrow! :-)  You will find the reading on EDMODO
