Tonight you are finishing our look at the "Road to Revolution". Once again, these are the events that directly lead to the American Revolution.

You will need to go to EDMODO and pull off the Road to Revolution page 3 document.

Here is what you will need to do:

The TEA Act of 1773 and Boston Tea Party (December 16, 1773)

  • Learn about the Tea Act of 1773 by clicking here. The first two paragraphs should help you understand.
  • Watch this video about the Tea Act and the Boston Tea Party. Go to minute 42:09 - start there. You are not watching the whole video, okay? Just slide to minute 42:09. Start watching from this point. End at minute 45:30. So, again, watch from 42:09-45:30, okay? It will help you understand what was happening in Boston at this time. It will help you write the answers for this tonight!

The COERCIVE ACTS (called "Intolerable" by the colonies) 1774 and the First Continental Congress 1774

  • Using this website, please identify the 4 punishments against Boston and Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party. Identify each ACT and its punishment...DON"T worry about the Quebec Act. Do the other four on your handout. Use bullet points.
  • Watch the video about the Coercive Acts and the First Continental Congress. It will help you understand better what happened.  WATCH from minute 1:36 to 12:44 of the video. You need only watch this segment, okay?
  • On your handout, please write what was decided to be done during the two months the delegates met in Philadelphia in 1774.
  • Finally, what is the British response to the 1st Continental Congress...
We will do the Shot Heard Round the World tomorrow...
