Remember in class today we learned that we don't know too much about the history before Columbus's famous voyage in 1492. You learned that this period of time before Columbus is called Pre-Columbian history. Most people don't know about the civilizations which existed in America before 1492. Over the next two days we will learn about two of these "Lost" civilizations. Tonight it is the ANASAZI.

You should be prepared to discuss these two videos tomorrow. Be ready to share your answers to the following questions: (You can just do these on your computer, word doc, don't put into dropbox just yet)
- Where did the Anasazi civilization exist?
- How did they harness water in such a harsh environment?
- What two types of living structures were discussed?
- What was the purpose of the "Kivas"?
- Describe the urban area of Chaco Canyon, including Pueblo Bonito. (description of the area, trade, buildings, etc...)
- How does Mesa Verde differ from Pueblo Bonito?
- There are many theories about the demise of the Anasazi. What you viewed is a theory most agreed upon-what did it say happened?
