Okay, so what really happened at Roanoke?

I am going to give you an excerpt from what I think is the best book on the subject. It is titled "Rethinking Roanoke" and was written by a professor by the name of Lee Miller.

Your job for tomorrow is to read this excerpt and come tomorrow with the understanding of what Professor Miller says really happened. Remember, no one knows for sure exactly what happened but I have read this book and it contains a TON of information and primary sources on the subject. She researched it well. I think it is the most probable explanation of why these people disappeared and what ultimately happened to them.  The document is below the questions.

So, I expect you to be able to tell me:
1. Who she says is responsible for the disaster at Roanoke AND WHY!
2. What most likely happened to these people?
