Monday, October 24th

Here is the list (There are 5 things - so make sure you scroll all of the way down!)

 
1. Binder Check is due Wednesday. (Check the Binder page)
2. Stock Report #2 is due Wednesday (there is a copy to print from below)

3. MONEYFEST! is Wednesday - bring any and all foreign money or other interesting forms of money you may have collected.

4. Print off and complete the student rubric. Directions:
As the first quarter draws to the close, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the past two months and assess your development as a social studies student.  Please use the rubric on the reverse of this page to identify your progress so far this school year.  Please use black or blue ink to note or circle your assessment in each of the areas described.  In addition, please provide any comments that will help in my assessment of your progress.

5. Visit the Virtual Money Museum. You will go to these tabs: Coins and Other Forms of Payment.
For the COINS page: go to and click COINS OF EARLY ORIGIN:
  • What is a Widow's Mite?
  • What do you see on the Byzantine Folles?
  • What is the story with the She Wolf and the Twins?
  • What usefulness is found with the Money Tree of Morrocco?
  • Notice anything different about the Pan Liang?

 
Now, go to the OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT page and then PRIMITIVE MONEY and:

 
  • Choose 4 forms of "money" from the past and describe them...
