  1. The phrase, "There is no such thing as a Free Lunch" means that even if someone says something is free, there is probably hidden fees.On Southwest airlines they say bags fly FREE. But there is probably some hidden fee. Also on Ebay some items cost .01, so it is almost free. But the hidden fee is shippig. It could be $1000. Thats why I think "There is no such thing as a Free Lunch".

  6. The saying, "Their is no such thing as a Free Lunch." Means that everything costs something in a way. You might that somethings are free like a lunch at work, but you in return are working. Also you might think that candy at a parade is free, and to you it is. But that candy was bought by a company to be handed out like advertisment so then if you by their service or product it isn't really free.

  12. There is no such thing as a free lunch means that you must work in order to earn something. This example means that you cannot walk into a restaurant, and simply get free food. You must work to get money, then pay. Lunch is not free, nothing is. Ethan S.

  13. What ive learned of theres not a free lunch is when i went to the brewers game with my friend. After ward we got the "free large fries" cuopon after they won. When we went to McDonalds they told us you had to buy something. So a free meal turned into 2 smothies and a cookie for $5!

  14. I think that this means there are always costs for the lunch. You may not be paying upfront expenses but somewhere down the line you probably did or will. For example when a charity gives free food away they think you will donate to them.

  17. "There is no such thing as a free lunch" means that for example, if you take a tomato from a farm and you don't pay for it, the farmer still had to pay for the seeds to grow that tomato plant. Also, the farmer had to pay for the cows to make the manure that fertilized the plants. Then, the farmer has to pay the water bill to water the tomato the you're eating. So the main meaning is that someone is going to have to pay for anything that you or anyone has in their life.
